Essential Oils
Our sense of smell is one of the most vital of our five senses. Research has shown that we learn best when we stimulate multiple sense and that is exactly why every one of our adjustments includes inhalation of an essential oil (or a “smelly” as our patients call them!). If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a rose, you’ve experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers and other parts of plants. Essential oils provide plants with protection against environmental threats and play a role in plant pollination.
In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and being beautifully fragrant to people, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices. Current research has continued to expand the ways we can clinically use essential oils. Dr. Ella educates and empowers patients to use essential oils in their own homes as well as part of their care in our office. We often label essential oils as “jet fuel” for the Chiropractic work done in our office.
